Green initiative and network of local environmental organizations Green List of Serbia invites all who will spend the May Day holiday in Fruska Gora, to participate in action in which biodegradable bags will be shared at several points and waste collected from visitors.
In order to protect the environment 2000 biodegradable bags will be given to visitors of Fruska Gora National Park as part of this action in which they will be able to collect their waste, and plastic and glass bottles or aluminum cans and bring them to the checkpoint at the Information Centre on Iriski venac, and in exchange they will receive gifts from Get Planet Wise!Recycle campaign.
Biodegradable bags will be given on three check points in the period from 6 am to 1 pm, at the Iriski venac (at the gas pump), in front of Sports Center “Gusle” and the King’s chair. At a checkpoint near the Information Center on Iriski venac citizens will be able to bring collected recyclable materials from 10 am until noon.
Action in Fruska Gora, within campaign to Get Planet Wise!Recycle, is organized by Engineers for Environmental Protection, Novi Sad, members of the Green List Serbi , and its implementation was provided by the Balkan Community Initiatives Fund (BCIF) in collaboration with the Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC) and the Young Researchers of Serbia and with funding from the U.S. Agency for international Development (USAID).
