BREAKING NEWS:

We invite you to join us  in the activity of submitting waste paper  to individual collectors of recyclable materials that will be held  at several locations in the city  on Thursday, 24 May from 11.00 am to 15.00 pm. Collected paper will be shipped to the recycling facility.

Continuing the action that begun in March this year, in which it was collected 1.3 tons of waste paper, on this Thursday  used office paper, which was collecting during the past two weeks, will be given to individual collectors by Balkan Community Initiatives, Center for modern skills, Belgrade Fund for political Excellence, European Movement in Serbia,  Young researchers of Serbia, Institute for sustainable Communities, Standing conference of Towns and Municipalities, Student center Rifat Burdzevic and company Exterior Solution. Amounts of collected will be shipped to recycling facilities with the help of companies  Ekostar pak and Paper Service FHB. We expect the shares will be collected during the approximately one ton of waste paper.

Green initiative continue activities on connecting people, institutions and businesses in the recycling area to collect recyclable materials, with the primary aim of improving primary selection and recycling, but also strengthening the network of individual collectors of  raw materials in the waste management system.

To contribute to the legalization of individual collectors  Green Initiative began the establishment of three cooperatives that will contribute to the organized and institutionalized the work of individual collectors.

Waste collectors collect most of the waste currently being recycled in Serbia, according to estimates, approximately 75 percent. In Serbia there are, according to estimates, between 35,000 and 50,000 of them. The comparative experience of countries in the region show that the legalization of work of individual collectors increases the amount of collected recyclables by 20% and the capacity of the plant for processing recycled materials are  increased by 25%.
