Green initiative, a network of 22 civil society organizations, sent an open letter to the Ministry of Energetics, Development and the Environmental protection with a request for clarification of the situation regarding the announced rationalization of public administration, which includes closing of agencies and institutions in the field of environmental protection, which are currently at the national level.
The letter expressed concern that these announcements that will lead to changes which could jeopardize basis of the the environmental system, the democratic process, but also lead to a significant slowdown in the European integration process of the Republic of Serbia, as the field of environmental protection is one of the most important in the process of harmonization and enforcement of regulations in this way.
The letter was also sent to the Ministry of Finance and Economy, and representatives of media and civil society.
