BREAKING NEWS:

Green initiative invites you to join us in a fun and educational environmental performance about recycling organized with artists from Cirkusfera for visitors of all ages, on Tuesday, August 28, in front of the Shopping Center Usce, at 9 pm, within Naxi radio beach and Usce Open Air event.

Besides enjoying in circus arts, visitors will get useful ideas on how to re-use the old stuff, practical advice on how they  could recycle, and valuable gifts from environmental campaign “Pazi djubre!”

The artists from Cirkusfera will also  give the visitors bags for sorting waste (paper, plastic bottles and cans) with a link to a  Recycling Address Book, with information on more than 400 locations in which they can deliver waste for recycling.

Recycling Address Book is a comprehensive database of all recycling islands in Serbia, public utilities and private operators with a license for the collection, management and treatment of waste. Through Recycling address book,  searching by type of waste or  a city, everyone can easily find out where they can give a specific type of waste for recycling (paper, PET, metal, glass, electronic or electrical waste) in their neighborhood.

Every day in Serbia 5,000 tons of waste ends up on landfills, while each of us, on average, leave behind us 360 kg of waste per year. Half of this waste is disposed of in illegal dumps adjacent to rivers, city squares and parks for children. We do not want to leave that kind of monuments in heritage!

With this event Green Initiative continues campaign  “Pazi djubre!” which affects the awareness citizens of the importance of recycling and primary selection, and offers solutions to  citizens how they can recycle their waste.

The campaign is a part of the Green initiative activities aimed at stimulating primary selection of waste at local and national level, which is implemented in cooperation with the Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC) and with financial support from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
