BREAKING NEWS:

A Panel discussion on impact of CSOs on policy of environment in Republic of Serbia, which was organized on the second day of Eco Fair in Belgrade, by Green initiative, had 35 participants.  Guest speakers on behalf of Ministry for environment, mining and spatial planning  were Mr. Ivica Radovic, state secretary, Mr. Aleksandar Vesic, Deputy Minister and Mrs. Verica Curcic Pantelic, counselor, and on behalf of Green initiative, Mrs. Tanja Petrovic from Young researchers of Serbia and Zoran Simovic from Eco club Green signs.

A necessity for setting up a team within the Ministry for environment, mining and spatial planning for further building of cooperation with CSOs, was one of the key conclusions. Besides that, participants pointed out a need for organizing quarterly meetings with the person assign by the Ministry for communication with CSOs. First next step will be a meeting between Mrs. Tanja Petrovic and Mrs. Verica Curcic Pantelic, who will work on detail formulation of mechanisms that were suggested at the Panel.

During the discussion with representatives of CSOs it was also emphasized that cooperation with Ministry need to be more sustainable and continuous, and that Memorandum of cooperation which Ministry signed with 112 organizations of civil society need to be more efficient in practice.
